A key point to understand is that Ignition's "Rakeback" and "VIP Program" are the same system, which is managed through Ignition Miles.
1. Rake Structure
Rake is the fee the house takes for hosting the game. It is taken in two ways: as a small percentage of cash game pots or as a fee for entering a tournament.
Cash Games (No-Limit Hold'em & Pot-Limit Omaha)
Ignition takes a 5% rake from the pot in all cash games. Rake is only taken from pots where a flop is seen ("no flop, no drop"). The most important factor is the rake cap, which is the maximum amount that can be taken from any single hand.
The rake cap varies by the stakes being played and the number of players dealt into the hand.

Note: Fixed-Limit games have different and typically much lower rake caps, often ranging from $0.10 at micro-stakes to $3.00 at high-stakes.
Tournaments & Sit & Go's (SNGs)
For tournaments, the rake is a fixed fee included in the buy-in. This is typically 7% to 10% of the total buy-in.
-
Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs): The fee is usually 10%. You see this listed in the tournament lobby (e.g., a $100 + $10 tournament means $100 goes to the prize pool and $10 is the fee).
-
Jackpot Sit & Go's: These 3-player, lottery-style SNGs have a 7% fee (e.g., in a $10 buy-in, $9.30 goes to the prize pool).
2. VIP Program (Ignition Miles)
Ignition's VIP program is based on earning Ignition Miles for all real-money play.
Earning Ignition Miles
-
Tournaments: You earn 15 Ignition Miles for every $1 in fees paid.
-
Cash Games: You earn 15 Ignition Miles for every $1 of rake contributed.
-
Jackpot Sit & Go's: You earn 1.5 Ignition Miles for every $1 of the buy-in.
VIP Tiers
As you play, you accumulate two types of Miles: Lifetime Miles (which never expire) and Redeemable Miles (which you can spend). Your Lifetime Miles determine your VIP tier, which unlocks better conversion rates for your redeemable Miles.
The tiers are:
-
Steel
-
Chrome
-
Bronze
-
Silver
-
Gold
-
Platinum
-
Titanium
-
Diamond
Reaching a new tier is permanent, so you never lose your status.
3. Rakeback Opportunities
Ignition does not offer traditional, flat-rate rakeback (i.e., you won't get 27% of your rake paid back to you automatically). Instead, all rakeback and value is delivered through promotions and the Ignition Miles program.
Here are the two main ways you get "rakeback":
1. The Welcome Bonus (Highest Rakeback)
This is by far the most valuable rakeback you will receive on the site. As detailed in the previous section, the poker portion of your welcome bonus is unlocked by earning Miles.
-
Unlock Rate: You unlock $1 of your bonus for every 30 Ignition Miles you earn.
-
How to Earn: You earn 15 Miles per $1 of rake/fees.
-
Calculation: This means you need to pay $2 in rake/fees (2 x 15 Miles = 30 Miles) to unlock $1 of your bonus.
-
Effective Rakeback: This equates to an effective rakeback of 50% while the bonus is active (you get $1 back for every $2 you pay in rake).
2. Ongoing Rakeback (Redeeming Ignition Miles)
After your welcome bonus is cleared, your only "rakeback" comes from redeeming the Ignition Miles you continuously earn.
You can redeem your Miles in the "Rewards" section of your account for:
-
Poker Tournament Tickets: This is the primary way poker players get value.
-
Casino Bonuses: You can also convert Miles into casino bonus cash, which has a 10x rollover requirement.
The conversion rate for your Miles improves as your VIP tier increases. This ongoing rakeback percentage is much lower than the 50% from the welcome bonus, but it is the main loyalty reward for long-term players.
